The Multi-Faith Centre’s Encounters series ran from January to April as part of its Spring 2016 programme. Seven world religions were visited in their places of worship bi-weekly, with an average of 20 participants for each visit and increasing numbers throughout the series.
The central ideas of faith, practice and worship were explored within Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism and the Bahá’í faith.
Feedback from the visits was very positive. The warm welcome each place of worship provided left a lasting impression, along with the fascinating talks and tours provided by the faith representative and opportunity to ask questions. Comments such as “informative”, “fascinating”, “learned so much”, demonstrated the success of the series along with one attendee’s testimony of, “I would never have visited these places of worship had it not been for the series. So much care and thought had been put into the preparation for the talks”.
Below are some photographs taken by Soshain Bali on a few visits during the series.
