Join us as we explore some of the projects and initiatives tackling hate crime in Derby and how we as individuals can have a positive impact.
12th - 19th October is National Hate Crime Awareness Week, a week of solidarity with those affected by hate crime. For many faith and minority communities the experience of hate and prejudice is a daily experience. This month’s Women in Faith Network event will create a safe space to explore these experiences, learn about projects and initiatives tackling hate crime and discuss how we as individuals can positively impact change.
We are delighted to welcome guest speakers Katie Hibberd, Serious Violence Analyst at Derbyshire Violence Reduction Unit; and Tracie Harrison, CEO at Safe & Sound, Derbyshire’s leading child exploitation charity who provide bystander training to schools across Derbyshire.
The Women in Faith Network is a friendly, welcoming forum for Women of Faith from across Derby to come together to discuss issues which affect them. It is a supportive, nurturing, inspirational space where women can network, share experiences, learn from best practice, and find inspiration to continue the valuable work they do within their communities and workplaces throughout the city.
This event is open to all women of faith, and free to attend. Booking is required.
A light vegetarian buffet and refreshments will be served on arrival.
