Our hearts go out to the families of the three girls, Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, who died as a result of the attack at The Hart Space Community Centre in Southport, on Monday, and to all those injured and impacted by the attack.

Statement on Behalf of MFC

It has been heartening to see the outpouring of community spirit in Southport with neighbours of all faiths and none coming together to support each other in the face of the subsequent organised, indefensible violence in Southport and elsewhere.

We continue offer our support to faith communities throughout Derby City and Derbyshire as they encourage co-operation, collaboration and discussion to build safe, healthy and cohesive communities.

If you are impacted by or the target of anti-Muslim hatred, please contact TellMama.org who work to counter Muslim hatred, discrimination and Islamophobia and provide confidential support to victims. If you need someone to talk to the Samaritans.org also provide a free confidential 24/7 helpline 116 123.
